Is there a switch somewhere in the assembly for the front brake that activates the rear brake light?

This morning, I noticed my brake light won't come on when using the front brake only.

I am not sure how relevant this information is, but it may be useful in a diagnosis. A couple months back, I got caught in a torrential downpour on my way home from work. I got completely soaked, and so did the bike. When I got off the highway and was sitting at a light, holding only the front brake, with both feet on the ground, I kept getting shocked through my right hand.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Guess I should have searched before posting...

Has anyone heard more about this recall? I had not received any notification. Calling Suzuki North America now.

See if there is a white dot on the front brake switch. If there is, the switch was already replaced. The recall was very early in the 2012 release. Most bikes were fixed before they left the warehouse.

Suzuki North America states the recall was completed on my bike. Not sure why it would have failed again...

Guess I'm off to the dealer to order a new part.
