Lucky boy, Graham.

Yesterday, on the ride to Dubbo, I blasted off from the side of the road get going before a semi arrived and to catch up to the others. As luck would have it, coming the other was was a bright green Highway Patrol car in the middle of a stream of traffic. I checked the speed but was only doing about 75 in the 60 zone. Fortunately, we turned off less than a km up the road so if he turned around he probably went straight ahead. I think he did as we saw him in Bathurst while we were getting lunch.

Then today on the way back from Dubbo, I slowed after we left Ilford (heading towards Capertee) as I expected a HWP car on that road on Sunday. I was not disappointed - coming the other way was one of the bright blue ones. OckerStrom was behind me so we both made it through unscathed. There was a HWP car on the same section of road when Ocker and I rode back from Rylstone after a previous Strommer trip.
And I found two more on the Bell's Line on the way back down, one hiding and a bright green HWP going the other way just as I dropped back from a "quick pass" of three 4WD's towing trailers loaded with trail bikes.

Hardly any traffic on the way down BTW Ron, hope you guys weren't held up too much over on the other side of the hill.

Graham, you are right about both the menu and the view there.

Saturday we saw two white patrol cars parked opposite the weigh station at the top of Bells of Line then the green HWP car parked perfectly to catch you if you speed into 60k zone at Hampton on the way to Oberon ( I agree with his placement entering 60k zones small towns) then later in the arvo another (or the same) green HWP south of Bathurst and then another white patrol car doing the rounds of Mt Panorama.
Total of 6 police cars all with speed traps attatched to roof within a 6 hour ride.... sooooo any hour without seeing a police car in the blue mountain locality on a weekend is rare. Unless you have a couple of thousand dollars worth of gear from dontgetcaught.com.au your just lucky not to get fined! although I do grab the bakes even when Im not over the limit, it must be an automatic reflex by now !!!!!
You must have gone past the ones at Bell around the same time as we did, they were there when we all went through on Saturday morning.
