They say there's no such thing as a free lunch well today I got one .

My mate Chancy and I went for a short ride down through the Royal National Park ,south of Sydney .We entered via the Waterfall end and were prepared for the Police who LOVE the Park for good reasons $$$ because of all the silly riders who go way to fast for the roads .Of course my noise can smell Police as I come out of a corner I just slowed a bit and sure enough there was the state revenue car hiding , so some carefull weaving so he could not get a fix on my mate and some on off rear breaking helped my mate slow down . MR PLOD held his fingers up to indicate ( a) missed you by that much , and (b) to me it was a shake of the finger . So the ride continue down to Scarbough Pub for lunch ,which of course was packed . Those that have been there will Know the food is OK but very $$$ with a limited menue but the viewws over the Ocean are great . We qued up for about 10 minutes to order T bone steak and Garlic bread $39 so ou are paying about $2o for the view and $ 19 for the steak . We went and shared a table out side with some others as the place is packed , and enjoyed the view as a BONUS there were some whales about so it was good with great weather .After about an hour CHancey goes upstairs to see why our Buzzer hasn't gone off , of course they say it will be another 8 minutes . Well after another 1/2 hour he goes up to " check" again . About 10 mminutes later he returns with the meals and a BONUS FULL REFUND as they stuffed up . So you see there is such a thing as a free lunch .
Return ride all the way through the park was below the speed limit with only one Police car seen . Personally thats about the slowest trip I have done in the park and I know Chancy who used to live in the park has never travelled that slow .I suppose it's because he has lost 17 points and will be walking a lot soon ! has slowed hime down . Me, well lets say I think I have had two tickets in 20plus years, but an awfull lot of short conversation with the men in blue .

Free LUNCH ride should be more of them .

Lucky boy, Graham.

Yesterday, on the ride to Dubbo, I blasted off from the side of the road get going before a semi arrived and to catch up to the others. As luck would have it, coming the other was was a bright green Highway Patrol car in the middle of a stream of traffic. I checked the speed but was only doing about 75 in the 60 zone. Fortunately, we turned off less than a km up the road so if he turned around he probably went straight ahead. I think he did as we saw him in Bathurst while we were getting lunch.

Then today on the way back from Dubbo, I slowed after we left Ilford (heading towards Capertee) as I expected a HWP car on that road on Sunday. I was not disappointed - coming the other way was one of the bright blue ones. OckerStrom was behind me so we both made it through unscathed. There was a HWP car on the same section of road when Ocker and I rode back from Rylstone after a previous Strommer trip.

And I found two more on the Bell's Line on the way back down, one hiding and a bright green HWP going the other way just as I dropped back from a "quick pass" of three 4WD's towing trailers loaded with trail bikes.

Hardly any traffic on the way down BTW Ron, hope you guys weren't held up too much over on the other side of the hill.

Graham, you are right about both the menu and the view there.

Okey you know my place, well they have had Police doing there far share or revenue raising this week ( if fact EVERYDAY )sometimes they have two cars working it . You have to understand there are some STUPID drivers out there .The Police car was sitting a bitt further down the road in front of a neighbours house with the falshing lights going at night having just booked someone , my neightbour went over to talk to him turns out they know each other .Well a car approached doing above the limit in fact he was accerating even though you could see the flahing light at nigh a mile away . His speed rose from 60-76 kph in .He got dune for 76 in a 50 zone , just how stupid are they accerating towards a parked Police car with its lghts flashing ????

Be very aware that POLICE are realy out there and will be for a while . It appears the RTA may just loose a few cameras and we go back to highway patrols doing the job . Camera you know where they are Police you do not . By the way Umarked Cars I have seen them using that may surprise you
2 door silver Mitzubishi Lancer ( male and femal officers working together so girls do not get away with flirting)
Green Honda Accord
Silver Toyota Prado
Holden sports utes Green whiteand red ones with hard tonnea covers

When you talk to a few of the Highway Patrol Officers you should hear the storeys they can tell about stupid drivers , makes you wounder why there are not more accidents .

The number of unregistered cars they catch is amazing .

Saturday we saw two white patrol cars parked opposite the weigh station at the top of Bells of Line then the green HWP car parked perfectly to catch you if you speed into 60k zone at Hampton on the way to Oberon ( I agree with his placement entering 60k zones small towns) then later in the arvo another (or the same) green HWP south of Bathurst and then another white patrol car doing the rounds of Mt Panorama.
Total of 6 police cars all with speed traps attatched to roof within a 6 hour ride.... sooooo any hour without seeing a police car in the blue mountain locality on a weekend is rare. Unless you have a couple of thousand dollars worth of gear from dontgetcaught.com.au your just lucky not to get fined! although I do grab the bakes even when Im not over the limit, it must be an automatic reflex by now !!!!!

You must have gone past the ones at Bell around the same time as we did, they were there when we all went through on Saturday morning.
