Does the foot break the boot in or does the boot break the foot in? I can't tell, but it hurts either way :var_11: Impressive collection of smilies.

I generally buy boots that fit.......
That is very unusual if you are talking about boots made for riding motorcycles. That's especially true for me and other people like me -- my boot/shoe size is 11AA/4A. I have never seen a motorcycle boot in a width that narrow and in a "combination last". The closest I ever came was a hiking boot style of Garmisch, made (back then) somewhere in Germany or Italy or Switzerland. The closest I can come now is a few styles of Red Wing boots. I can have my western boots (OK, cowboy boots) made at the Nocona boot factory in Nocona, Texas (and, no, they aren't very expensive).

It's a work boot I'll use for riding. I haven't worn boots in years, so it's more the ankle area that is being the most sensitive now. I heard, or maybe read, the riding boots were not comfortable to walk in all day and probably the flip side is true about the protection (or lack thereof) for walking boots. Maybe the more accurate description is work boot, though it does not have a safety toe.

have you tried sidi boots? they are usually pretty narrow. before i ot my gaerne's for off-road riding on the dr, i ordered a set of sidi crossfires. could not get my foot into them. period.
