Hello everyone,

I was wondering if you guys had an opinion on the Fly Terra Trek jacket and Butane pants. Motorcycle Closeouts is offering the combo for $169, which is crazy cheap for a jacket and pants. I am in the market for a new riding gear setup (moving from Arizona to the Northeast), so this setup got my attention.

Should I consider a lower cost setup like the Fly or go with nicer gear that will probably last longer? Thanks for the help!

Terra Trek jacket

I have a Terra Trek 2 jacket. Like your deal, got it on sale for $99. I am on my second season wearing it everytime the temp is 75 and under. For the money, it has been a great jacket. Good protection, very warm with a fleece under it, and comfortable. Decent vents for a colder weather jacket. Been in rain a few times and no issues, but it is a coated nylon, so.... My next jacket will be a little nicer. Not that there is anything wrong with the Fly, I like some other jackets better. I guess the price makes me wonder about how long it would last in the long run. Pilot Motorsports, BMG Adventure, Roadgear...many options if money is not an issue.

I still like the Fly, and it has been a great jacket, but my Pilot mesh jacket is nicer quality, so their 3/4 length Trans Urban may be next. The Fly will give you good service for quite a few years though. The price is right for pretty good quality.

Jackets are like a Ford vs. Chevy conversation...lots of opinions, and many are good:thumbup:

I have a few jackets I bought on sale. Not that particular one, but they have all been good. I did finally get an Aerostich suit and don't need any of those others anymore.

Ultimately you want convenience, comfort and Safety. Buy more than you can afford, its all the armor you get in a crash.
