Had a great ride across Tamiami Trail two weeks ago. Saw a sign for Loop Road, which got me curious. I've heard about Loop Road and know of only one person who has taken a bike out there. Paved about 50% paved...lots of gravel, potholes and water. Not a great place for a motorcycle, but a great place for a V-Strom!

Unfortunately, I don't know any other V-Strom riders in my area who want to explore it. Anyone else in South Florida want to meet up and go check it out? Anyone already been there that can give it a thumbs up or down?

the "loop"

I've done the loop a # of times. . .Winter or now (pre-rainy season) would be the best time to do it.
The paved road portion isn't really bad at all, yes a few potholes-but no big deal. The dirt road portion can be a little challenging at times--but definitely doable ( and I not a great dirt rider type). Can be pretty messy in the rainy season though--
I did the "loop" last weekend with my friend on his KLR 650 & my wee--no probs at all. A little "buggy" but certainly tolerable.
Beautiful sights. . .wildlife (many gators, snakes, birds, deer at times, etc.) & lush tropical landscape. Also, unique people living out there. I'm told that Al Capone even had a house/casino back there. Definitely bring your camera.
Feel free to call, let's do it.
