Just finished all my wiring. Here's what I did:

Unswitched Blue Sea fuse box attached to battery via 30 amp inline fuse
Attached to it:
- GPS (so I can leave it powered up when the bike is off)
- Powerlet outlet (so I can charge the bike when the bike is off)
- Second Blue Sea fuse box via a relay triggered off the taillight

On the second (switched) fuse box:
- V1 radar detector (with HARD transmitter inline)
- Back-Off XP brake light modulator (5 flashes then steady, so the guy behind won't get homicidal)
- Back-Off LED license plate frame - 2 rows of dual-intensity LEDs - duplicating taillight and brake light
- Autoswitch garage door opener (triggered via 2 flashes of the high beam - this thing is way cool!)

The Blue Seas fit side by side in the tray. I screwed them both onto some 1/2" wood, with a cutout to fit around the bulge in the tray. The wood is velcroed into the tray. Relay for the switched fuse box is under the metal crossbar where the seat locks in.



In the tail (behind the tool kit) are the V1 power and HARD transmitter (left - V1 power temporarily unstuck from its velcro), garage door opener and Autoswitch (right - that's the Autoswitch LED coiled up on top of it - could probably cut it off but haven't bothered yet), and velcroed to the back wall of the tray the Back-Off XP module (the module was not stuck to the velcro in this shot):



Here's my Powerlet. I mounted it behind the passenger footpeg using the rear bolt. Spacer in the front bolt. I think it's one of Powerlet's "sportbike" kits.



Here are the highway pegs & brackets I got from Twisted Throttle (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2699). Had to drill into the bars and swap in a longer bolt (with silver hex head) to keep pegs from rotating around the bar:

Hey Bob, what's a HARD transmitter?

Nice wiring. I guess there are a few of us who need more than one aux power distribution panel. I've got one under the seat and a second in the cowl. I'm using a RigRunner system with Anderson powerpole connectors.

Hey Bob, what's a HARD transmitter?
It's a remote indicator light system for radar detectors. The transmitter goes inline between the detector and power supply. The receiver (wireless) goes in your helmet - mine tucks in between the padding so it's out of the elements. When the detector goes off the receiver blinks a bright red LED in your peripheral vision, prompting you to slow down, or look at your detector to see if you should.

It's not the heaviest duty piece of gear (mine's been repaired a few times) but it's a life - I mean money - saver.

Bob, where did you get the cool garage door opener?
I'm guessing you mean the Autoswitch, not the opener (which is a stock Genie Intellicode from Home Depot). The Autoswitch I got from Cycle Gadgets. The only tricky bit is tack-soldering the wires from the Autoswitch to the door opener switch contacts (best to preload the wires with a little solder). Nice thing is I didn't wreck the opener - the button still works. Maybe someday I'll work out a way to power the opener from the bike, but that'd mean some kind of transformer, so I guess I'll have to fish it out every few years and change its battery.

I have to admit though that the Autoswitch was probably the most unnecessary farkle added so far. I used to just carry the opener in my pants pocket, and it was easy to push the button through my pants as I rolled up to the garage.

Maybe someday I'll work out a way to power the opener from the bike, but that'd mean some kind of transformer, so I guess I'll have to fish it out every few years and change its battery.
As it turns out, the door opener runs on a tiny 12 volt battery - so no transformer necessary! At some point I'll have to tap it into one of the fuse blocks.

That little battery lasts so long, I just use it. Soldering a momentary button to the remote's PCB was all I felt like doing. Adding power wires and totally waterproofing the case might not be a bad idea though.

Should I worry about waterproofing with it in the tail section? Can it get wet back there?

I wouldn't bother there. I really don't know how well they do with water. Mine is under the front piece that spans the fairing at the gas tank so it's more exposed.
