Coolant color doesn't mean a thing anymore and yes, you can use any coolant spec'd for aluminum engines.
From Prestone

I would never put Dex Cool coolant in with red or blue Asian.
Now...the Universal coolant (like Prestone)....thats a different situation...& if thats all they had...sure..Id use it. But I would always try to find the same type coolant if possible.

I'd think the bike uses maybe $15 in coolant at most, every two years if you are meticulous. I'm just gonna buy a jug of whatever Suzuki sells , take a picture of it pouring in and hope Suzuki likes me if ever a warranty claim comes up. In Canada they have a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty on the 650, and I am thinking they are looking for any issue to not honour it.

I don't have the time or patience to research whether a coolant is silicate free or not and buy Honda green or Toyota red antifreeze that clearly states this on the label. Suzuki products should be fine. For my Tenere, Yamaha uses some proprietary blue coolant and I went and bought a bottle because I love my bike.

On my older cars I cheat and go to the corner auto parts store. On my new cars, my tractor, and my bikes......things I give a shit about, I am OEM all the way. Filters and anything internal in the engine drivetrain gets OEM parts. My labor is free, why scrimp on the parts.

Blue is the factory long life stuff. My L2 came with it. I have a liter of it on the shelf.

I did change to engine ice though last year.

My Jeep came with the orange junk and I flushed it out. Now using Prestone universal coolant. Great stuff. Kinda greeish yellow florescent color.
