I wanted some space under my Eastern Beaver PC-8 fuse panel, so I built
this cheap mounting shelf and leveling shim.
(The install was done on a Vee.)
Hope this helps someone looking to fresh install the PC-8 fuse panel or needs a winter
project.
Cheers

Tools:
- bench vice
- rasp/rat tail file or bastard file
- hacksaw
- drill & bits
- ruler
- scribe
- rivet tool
- Phillips screwdriver
- side cutters
- divider (optional), to scribe or transfer measurements
Materials:
- two sided adhesive carpet tape
- 3" abs drain plug (Home Depot)
- Aluminum pop rivets 5/32"diameter (1/2" grip)
- Aluminum rivet backup washers 1/8" inside diameter
- Black silicone adhesive/sealant
- can of favorite beer
Tips:
- Use 2 sided tape to hold parts in place to tray when obtaining measurements to
transfer the hole positions to outside wall of the tool tray for drilling.
- Use pilot holes before opening them to full final size
- Drill open the hole of the alum washers to be a tight fit to rivet to avoid pulling the
rivet through when fastening.
- Drill screw holes under size.
- Trial fit all parts as an assembly prior to final fastening (riveting).
- If rivets too long after fastening, trim with side cutters and remove sharp edges.
- Wet install fender rivets with silicone.
