Yeah, I know... I told myself always to remember... but yesterday I forgot...

Was driving slowly while turning, and then... it stopped.

It looks as no damage was done... everything sits in place. Well the brake caliper has a little bit of slack, but I see that the other side (not harmed) has the same slack.

What to look for? How to make sure no harm was done?

Your thread lacks any information that would allow any helpful response. What bike model? What side did it fall on?
Low speed tip overs rarely do other than cosmetic or readily viewable damage. Scratches on the faring, a broken indicator, a bent or broken lever. Please add your v-Strom model and your location to your signature for a better response.

Brake calipers do "float" a little are they are not fixed. 1st thing to do is find a dumpster and throw the disc lock away. They keep honest people, help owners drop bikes and do nothing to deter professional criminals from stealing whatever hey want.

Way more bikes have been damaged from forgetting to remove disc locks than they will ever save. Insurance with good coverage is your best protection against theft. Chains, disc locks, steering head locks, rabid dogs, security cameras, tracking devises all have two things in common. The provide a false sense of security to the owner and do nothing to stop criminals.

Sorry. I will try to be a bit more informative. I think you misunderstand. The bike did not fall/tilt on the side.

What happened is I use a brake disk lock as an extra theft protection. Normally I remove it before driving, but the other day, I forgot, and the lock was hitting the brake caliber. Question is... how to make sure nothing is damaged?

You may get away without any mischief being done to the fork leg or the disc or the caliper. For the same reason I now never put a disc lock on any bike without using a Disc lock reminder. One person I know had a plaster cast or equivalent on his ankle for almost a year after such a tip over when the bike fell on his ankle.

@bonne,
If you were just moving from rest and went only less than a wheel revolution before the disc lock contacted the caliper, I would be secure in the knowledge that everything is fine. Maybe try a few hard stops from low speed and check for un unusual feel or pulling to one side. If ok, try again while turning. Check the brake lines and calipers for leaking. My disc lock has a spiral cable that attaches to the locking pin and loops around the handle grip. Works great if I don't forget to remember not to forget to use it.

From your description at the beginning of the thread I suspect You have not done any damage. Just keep an eye on braking and turning on your initial ride as Motorpsychology suggests and if all is well then You should be ok.
