Although I'm 6' tall, I find the 1050 a bit tall and top heavy. I've had a couple of o-shit moments for doing things that I am used to doing with other bikes. Somehow the 1050 has felt too tall for me.

So recently I found out that Suzuki actually makes a "low seat". Comes in 2 colors: black / gray; yellow / gray.
It's advertised to be 30mm (1.25 inches) lower than the normal seat.

Poke around here to find it. Keep in mind that the 2020->2022 are different than the 2023.

I found a good price on the e-stupid auction site and decided to go for it. It looks as good as factory seat and installs without any issues. It's a factory part :)

Anyways, wanted to share this, in case others were interested.

Also being 6' tall and a 34" inseam, I found mine easier to manage with the stock seat in the low position. I have a second-hand Corbin seat that I will be trying out this summer, but the stock seat took me about 5-6000 miles to really get used to the balance.

On the other hand, the 1050 really makes my 650 feels like and compact when I ride that bike.

My bike came with one (it was installed by the dealer for the mostly short guys local market I live in), recently switched it back to the stock seat now that I'm used to ride a tall and heavy bike, I can't barely feel the difference except a slight convex and harder surface in the middle.

So going from standard to lower would be the opposite, very slight change, unless these (claimed) 30mm are critical I guess.

I bought the low seat and sent it back. It definitely made a difference height-wise, but it was so incredibly uncomfortable that I couldn't ride the bike without feeling the seat cutting into my thighs or feeling a hard "bar" pressing on my rear end.

I put in such a low seat. It didn't change things much for the better, but it's definitely less comfortable than the standard one. And given the fact that the standard is also not a standard of comfort, there may be problems on long trips. I compensated by installing an air cushion from the sw-motech and a grid on top of it. Now my butt has no big problems with comfort on long trips. And the low seat compensates for the height increase due to the cushion.

I wish I had posted this before buying the seat then. I have received it, installed it, but not tried it due to weather.

I wonder what your in-seams are. I'm 6' (180cm) but in seam is 30", where @AKStrom has a 34" in-seam even though he's the same height. I probably should have mentioned that in my first post because it's the in-seam that matters, not total height.

I can sorta flat-foot on both sides when the bike is 100% vertical. but any tilt to either side causes me to loose my foot grip.

One time I pulled into a parking lot that had a downhill to it, perpendicular to parking slots. I pulled in to a slot to my right, went to put my left foot down and the bike tilted and tilted and tilted. I didn't fall but found myself in an awkward position that couldn't tilt the bike back up to the right to put the side stand down and wasn't comfortable to swing the right leg over it to get off. Def. awkward but I somehow got out of it.

Lesson learned for the next time.

Similar thing happened to me. And I'm 169 cms. Imagine the panic!

If your open to an aftermarket seat ( not sure of the costs for the OEM one ) the Corbin seat will drop the total height of the seat down quite a bit. I had one and didn't like it but there may be others who can make a couple measurements for ya.

Will say tho, they look damn good on the bike, but just couldn't get my toosh to agree w/ how good it looked 🤦‍♂️

What about putting a lowering kit in ?
The only major after doing this would be shortening the side stand
