Hi There,

Re the DL650 - Does anyone know what would happen if the electronic drive from the speedo sensor was disconnected? Ok - before you tell me the obvious - I would expect the speedo and trip meters to stop working but - Would there be any effect on the fuel injection? Would there be any effect on the ABS system?

Thanks

I think the speedo signal goes to the instrument cluster and the ECU doesn't see it - nothing on FI troubleshooting mentions the speed sensor. The ABS signals come from the "toothed" rings on the front and rear wheels, and the ABS computer is totally seperate from the ECU.

Maybe it's different in Australia, but in the USA it's illegal to disconnect the odometer. For that matter maybe it's different for motorcycles, I'm not real sure. Something to keep in mind though.
