Was visiting with my dealer today, according to him the Suzuki regional rep said the DL 1000 will be back in the 2012 line up. Also supposedly a bit more "dirt" oriented to compete more directly with the Super Tenere and BMW gs1200.

Seeing is believing...

LOL......ya, you know what they say "I'M FROM MISSOURI, YOU'VE GOT TO SHOW ME"....you of all people should know this well.

But of course, it makes perfect sense that a dealer in Missouri would have the inside scoop........

I was told the same thing at a dealership in Wyoming last week. FWIW, they had a '11 wee on the floor as well.

I'm gonna go with "complete bullshit" until I see a picture of it rolling off the production line.

Suzuki hasn't shown any movement towards making the Wee more of an dirt-worth bike, which would have made more sense, nor shown any movement towards improving or innovating with ANY of their dirt-oriented dual sports. If this were true, it would be a remarkable step in the right direction and that's why I think it's BS.

The one big thing that Suzuki needs to invest money into is shaft drive. While it isn't really suited for the smaller displacement bikes because of the power and weight penaties, they really need to look at it for the next generation Vee and the Bandit.

I honestly don't see a new Vee coming because I doubt that Suzuki is going to spend the $$ on the engine to make it compliant with emissions. I may be surprised, but I don't think Suzuki can compete with the offerings from Yamaha, BMW, Triumph, etc.... They have already proven this with the "all new" Wee.

If it's anything like the all new wee, then I'll take a pass. New body work doesn't equal 'all new' in my book. They'd better hurray, I'm Super Tenere dreaming now.
