I have 10K miles on mine with baffle pulled out on a V2 and love it. Just had it checked today per WI Forest regs by traceable sound level meter at 95.4 db at 5000RPM. Legal for off road here.

No issues. Still looks great.

Guess I'll turn this into a review after not a single person on two forums screamed no and the wife liked the look of one I pulled the trigger. Got a DL10 coming looked to be shipped the next day. So far so good website was easy and payment simple.

I'm running a Delkevic KIT14H2 and all worked as advertised. I added the extra long baffle and think that it is still too loud for me but others like it.

The Delkevic website is crazy and you get various results depending on how you enter your search. Their website doesn't always show what you're going to get. My KIT14H2 (17") doesn't look like what you see on their website. Mine looks more like a long version of a KIT12H2 (13") with a end tip looks like an OEM system.

I haven't seen any change in MPG or performance but I've kind of toned it down when applying throttle because of the "bark". Just a little too much for me.

Too loud or not too loud...that is the question.....

I bought the 9" kit for my 650 and although it sounded great it was way too loud, especially in town. I tried the longer baffle and it made no difference to me. They did credit me for the cost of the baffle against a 14". It is still bordering on too loud but without the particular frequency that was near painful with the 9". Service and delivery was good.

yeah the volume level is a concern hopefully it's not unbearable spike55_bmw I really like the look of that I almost ordered the 14" version had I seen the 17 I think I would have. The wife like the carbon DL10 in the pictures and as I couldn't decide I let her basically.

I'm running an Enduro Guardian (EG) skidplate and noted a potential pinch point. Other EG owners that installed other Delkevic systems mentioned that they had to "dimple" the small bay-pass pipe that runs between each header. Mine just made it without modification although it is a PITA to remove the EG skidplate & under engine bracket since it also involves the sidestand. It's best to get the bike as "clean" as possible to remove the old / install the new exhaust system.

I didn't see any quality issues with my system. You can't beat the Delkevic price and I'm sure a $1000 name brand system sounds the same. I still have my OEM system hanging from a roof rafter like a bat (winged mammal of the night).

I've wondered how to make it a little quieter or make the OEM system louder:
1.) Delkevic's longer baffle made no diff in sound level,
2.) Take apart the muffler and add more insulation (Delkevic sells rebuilt kits [insulation blanket / rivets / RTV silicone] for ~$35),
3.) Rip apart the OEM system to remove the CAT and/or by-pass a return loop, weld back together, paint, install. Only draw back is that you get all of that OEM system weight back onto the bike.

Always wear earplugs. First ride I didn't and ears were ringing for next few days.

I had a 9” on my sv650 for a while and it was LOUD. I also had a 18” yoshimira that I thought was too quiet on the SV. I just ordered a Dell 14” to try on my DL650 so hopefully it hits the sweet spot.

Installed the 18" oval kit on my 2016 a couple weeks ago and I like it. Not that loud in my opinion, just a nice deep sound.
-The bolts that come with the pipe clamps are cheap (the hex heads strip easily-- and I am careful when tightening) so I replaced them with stainless bolts from the hardware store.
-The graphite sleeve that clamps around the front header tube is a little too large so you have to tighten it quite a bit to ensure a good seal.
-The rear bar bracket that supports the muffler did not line up for me for some reason, so I didn't use it. I did a loose dry fit of the whole system to ensure everything was in good position before tightening anything, but I still couldn't get the muffler in the right position to use the mounting hole in the center of the included mounting bar. I just attached the support clamp for the muffler to the mounting location under the passenger seat nearest the turn signal, and it fit nicely.

Overall, great system for the price, works as expected and no surprises.

The 2 Brothers pipes I have had on my 1000 were very loud. Fun, but obnoxious around town. The Dels are about medium loud and sound good, too. Not just noise. I think you'll like 'em.

I've always kept my systems stock until this 650XT. The 650XT was "too" quiet. The price $ of the Delkevic made it easy for me to give one a try. Not knocking a $600, $800, $1100 systems but this was an easy decision if you wanted to try something different and not go broke.

Just received notice that Delkevic is having a Black Friday Sale. This will make their systems even more attractive ($) if you want to try out an aftermarket system on your Strom.

Damn I am so tempted, but the exhaust cans in the pics I've seen posted are a bit too long for my liking. :frown2:

B - The Delkevic sales guy that I dealt with a few days ago said that the Black Friday deal was to be 10% off. I ordered a 14" carbon fiber system that will go well with my flat black K8 Wee. I would have saved $27 if I waited but anxiousness and a buddy's installation help this Saturday caused me to go ahead and pull the trigger. My suggestion is go to the Del website and look at the 14" stubby system as shown on the picture of it installed on a Strom. Personally I think Drill would look suuweeet with a carbon system.

Just throwing some more temptation your way. :grin2:

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi!
Did you had to repack yet? I am really interested on a Delkevic (probably the same oval 18" that you have on your bike) and I was wondering after how many miles people had to repack them (approximate) and how easy it was since you have to drill the rivets etc.
I know Delkevic sells a kit to get them repacked.

Thanks!
