Anyone know a good process for removing the Strom decals from the fairings (good being easy and not hurting the paint)? I'm not a decal fan and I find the little DL650 decals to be more than enough. Thanks in advance for the input.

I used a hair dryer and plastic scraper (such as used with bondo).

I heated the sticker for about 30 seconds and scraped up the corner of the sticker, then peeled it off complete by hand. Did all the fairing stickers and the warnings on the frame sides. I left the data stickers on the frame sides.

If you search the forums you'll see many suggestions, some using chemicals.

Thanks, I figured heat would make it easiest, I'm just leary about hazing the finish, so I threw the question out there.

Decals Removed

I answered my own question about decal removal. I used the plastic scraper and blow dryer as suggested and cleaned any adhesive residue with denatured alcohol. I chose the alcohol because it is light and evaporates quickly. I have it around for my woodworking hobby. Works great on antique furniture to remove old shelack. Gave the old girl a bath and she looks fresh from the assembly line.
