Crinkly Surface on Water Pump Casing

1003 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Improperly Torqued
So I took a detailed look at my Wee (haven't done so in some time) and one thing that caught my eye was a bit of a bumpy surface on the water pump casing (see picture). I don't think I noticed this before. Is it anything to be concerned about?

It just seemed really off since all other surfaces are smooth as a baby's bottom.

I had the same thing happen. The paint is coming off. It isn't pretty but that's about it.
Cool. Thanks Pat! How are things back in Evanston? I have been temporarily moved to Chattanooga TN for work and naturally I had the company expense me riding the bike down there
If you would like to see Greywolf's water pump, you will have to ride to Mount Desert Island, Maine. That's because it is on my bike!

Here is the story.

Depending on the day, it's either hot or wet, sometimes both.

Funny you should mention it; I noticed the same thing for the first time recently, during my annual bike wash event (I clean it once a year whether it needs it or not).
