Good lord.. it is always depressing to see all these crashes. I can only hope that at the very least they serve as a reminder to the rest of us to stay alert, stay aware, and be careful out there! God rest the souls of those lost.

Seems strange to me as well.. The ground looks wet however and the windshield looks covered in water drops.. They haven't said a whole lot yet or released a name.. On the tube they said they aren't releasing a name until family is notified.. At that time of night I was wondering if it might have been a drowsy rider situation.. But its interesting that the windshield isn't broken yet the right luggage is damaged. I would have thought if it flippped it would have taken the mirrors off and broke the windscreen.. Whatever the case I hate mornings like this and as mentioned above Im saddened for what their families are going through, as well as the other bike that was with the Wee..

How do you figure that? Could be equipment failure, alcohol, or sleepy rider or any number of other things. I think you are too quick to place blame here with little to no information.

Equipment failure? sorry VSTROM.
too quick?? you sound awful defensive.... are you a bad cage driver???
I could care less what you think, cagers try and kill me all the time, don't know where you ride that this is not the case.... and furthermore, I think you are too quick to blame the rider....

so there.

This was in the comments section:

"I do know the name of the fallen rider. His name is Steve. He is and will always be my older brother.
He and a close friend were on a road trip from San Deigo to the artic circle. This happened on the first day of there trip. They stopped for a break less than an hour before this occured.
Its unclear exactly why the bike started a death wobble at 60 mph and we probabaly will never know for sure.
He leaves behind his wife and 8 month old daughter.
The family would ask that any persons with anything negative to say would please keep there mouth shut.
Thank you for your prayers."

I-15

Although I'm not from Utah, I'm familiar with that crappy freeway, having traveled it many times in a cage late at night and early morning hours. It has scared the crap out of me due to all the construction and garbage that seem to plague the stretch from Ogden to Provo. Coming into SLC with the freeway torn up, no clear traffic lanes, and serious road glare during the winter/fall months can make that stretch extremely hazardous. One night I ran over 3 wore out tires that had apparently fallen out of the back of someone's vehicle earlier that evening. At the time I remember thinking what I would have done if I'd been on my Vstrom...
