Hey guys. Unfortunately I've had to give up riding and camping but I have a CPAP battery that I would like to see go to someone that would use it for the same. Free to you. Look for the posting under "For Sale" and "Free" for more details and pictures.

I have enjoyed this forum for years. Great bunch of people and tons of maintenance info. Thank-you all.

I have a Cpap Battery, very good of you to offer it free. Hope some good thing comes your way .

Thanks. Haha, my intentions are good but I suspect the stumbling block is that its difficult to ship.
Have you used yours for camping?

I have , a few times. Lately I am sick and tired of the Cpap and have not been using it (Main home unit) My plan today was to give it a service and get re aquainted, as I am pretty sure it improves my health.

I can identify with that. I played with my pressure and that helped but the biggest thing was going to a sleeping "wedge" that I got on Amazon. I sleep really well. Not to brag but I went from 80 interruptions per hour to less than 0.5.
Good luck with yours. Its definitely worth it to get that ironed out and wake up rested.
Bolter1100,

Tell me more about your wedge, like dimensions.

I ride and camp, but haven't camped since going on cpap. Even before cpap I usually made a wedge of my riding gear under my air mattress.

I'd be glad to pay shipping on your battery setup. It'd be cheaper than the fuel to ride there to pick it up, about 2500 miles RT.

I got it on Amazon. 2'x2'x10". I didn't use it for camping but I did elevate my head with a makeshift large pillow.
I won't consider shipping it unless I can't donate it more locally. USPS will not take a Li battery and UPS and FedEx are way too expensive.
Too bad shipping is a PITA. I'd be happy to have it. Been looking into a battery pack for my CPAP for camping purposes because my kids are expressing some interest but I just cannot function if I don't use my CPAP. Good luck finding a local person for it ;)
Never thought I would hear about possible help with my cpap and sleeping on a motorcycle forum! I just ordered the sleeping wedge.
brider222,
On Advrider in the Camping Toys section there is a long thread on CPAP use,
CPAP. Is my ADV life over? NO!!!!
Plenty of info there too.
If about 10% of the population have some form of sleep apnea I'd bet that about 10% of Strommers have some experience with it.

I should add that I also use a mouthpiece that holds my jaw forward. I know that seems like a lot of paraphernalia to order to sleep well but it works like a champ for me.
Good luck, I hope it all works out.

My DME that I got my CPAP from has a small battery operated one they rent out, I rent that when I'm going camping. Might be worth checking out

That is a great idea that you've been able to take advantage of. I wish that had been available here and certainly worth checking out in your area.
Unfortunately medical equipment suppliers in our town are all corporate owned with not much imagination so its not an option here.
Thanks for that input.
I'm sub-human the next if I don't use my CPAP. It was the main driver to a back up generator for the house. Honestly I don't know if I would still be here without the CPAP. Migt have passed by now in my sleep.

So tell me more abut this battery. Is it CPAP model specific? If oi what brand and model. If i is 110 Volt how was it shipped to you?
Rick, look at the separate post under "For Sale" and there is a "Free" section that has some detailed photos.
It charges from 110 V AC, or 12 V DC and puts out 24 V DC. It was shipped to me by a vendor but I don't remember whether it was USPS, FedEx or UPS. The dimensions are about 8"x3"x3/4" and weighs around 2lbs.
I'm unsure why the USPS won't take it but I've been told that repeatedly by them. FedEx and UPS seem to be prohibitively expensive. I don't know if these are new regulations or their own internal policy but it doesn't seem to be worth battling.
For me, it powered a ResMed AirMini and the whole package was quite compact.
I'm glad you're having good results with CPAP. It definitely should not be a limitation with all the power options available.
