Hello all,

I just purchased the CooCase S48 from twistedthrottle for my Wee.

Here's my question:
Is the DL-650 a Non-CANbus bike when it comes to the run/brake lights?
In other words, is it okay to run the yellow coocase wire directly to the taillight or do I need to install a dual-function CAN-bus adapter?

My opinion so far
It seems great! Spacious enough to fit one full face helmet and my jacket for when I am alone or two full faced helmets when I am riding with the Mrs. Either way, there's still room to spare for gloves or other small items.

Mounting
I installed the mounting kit by following the instructions on the twisted throttle site. This part was pretty straightforward without any hassle.

No Canbus. The tail light hot is gray under the fender and brown in the sheath to the left of the under seat tool tray. The ground is black/white and the brake light hot is white/black throughout.

Here are some photos. I think it actually looks pretty good for such a large case.

The wiring harness from Eastern Beaver is not necessary. Everything you need comes with the package.

I have one little heads up for you about your CooCase that might save you some grief. If you are not riding your bike for a few days be sure and either plug in a battery tender, or, take your CooCase off your bike. It will drain your battery in as little as 10 days to 2 weeks. That neat little remote unlock feature is a 12v power hog and it is always on.

I really like my S48 CooCase, but, wish it wasn't so hard on the battery. I've considered doing away with the electrical hookup and just using the key, but, I really like using the remote.

I was thinking it would be pretty easy for somebody to cut off the wire and the alarm system would be rendered useless.
The other thing I was wondering about was if the key fob is water proof.

Waterproof, I would seriously doubt, but judging by the way my coocase key fob has held up for the last year with various wet/rainy riding conditions, it's water resistant and does just fine.

V36

so I have the V36 mounted on my DL1000... when the alarm is activated is the case suposed to blink all the time? and is there a way to turn the alarm sound up? as it is now it wouldnt scare the butterfly that landed on it lol

LOL Mine blinks when the alarm goes off. I don't think there's any adjustments that you can make, but I could be wrong. I would contact the manufacturer if you really wanted to know.
I think the alarm "system" is just that small extra incentive. It takes a lot for that thing to go off, and even then, you would have to be standing near it to notice.

Nice setup. I went for the Coo V36 with the optional smoke gray lenses, and EB wiring kit. Install was a snap, although I had to grind down just a bit two of the square washers so that the bolts going through the mounting plate were perpendicular and not stressing the plastic when snugged up. Ocara, good pics... what kind of tires are you running on that Wee ? :confused:

With so many people changing brands, it's funny the stock Trailwings would not be recognized.

Not to turn this into a tire thread but while we're on the subject...

I am coming up on my 7,100 miles. The tires still look like they're in good shape. People say they've gotten anywhere from 3k to well over 10k miles from them. Being that I am not a very aggressive rider, I hope they will keep holding up. Either way, I will buy these again when the time comes. More than once I've hit a patch of dirt/sand around a blind corner and I think these tires were a main contributor to helping me keep control.

on-off switch

The on-off switch located inside the Coocase..does it not turn off all power supply to it, instead of having to remove the case? Just wondering.
