Hi everyone,

I was looking to buy a givi TN532 crash bar to my DL650. I searched around the net and naturally wanted to go to Twisted Throttle until I saw the shipping price ($46). All and all a $158 bar came out to be $200. No thanks.

In Google search (dl650 givi crash bars) the first online shop that comes up is: Cli-MAX Riding Gear & Motorcycle Accessories Home Page | Cli-MAXRidingGear.com
The price is $153.88 With free shipping !!!!! I though wooaaa. Also the payment is via Paypal, that usually means security.
Well, all is true except they don't keep the TN532 in stock. What is even worse is they don't make an order from Givi until a certain amount order comes in online. This is the email I got from them:

"Recently Givi has made a change in how they ship their product. Once we have an order large enough for Givi to ship to us it will take 3-5 business days for ordered Givi products to reach our location in Texas. Unless we have the requested Givi item(s) at our location, do expect a delay in receiving an order."

I asked them when can I expect the bars, the reply:

"We only send this email out for customers expecting a delay. If we had your item in stock, you would not receive this email. Customers have an average delay in shipping of a few days, up to a couple of weeks. We send this out because we ourselves do not have an exact date to give to our customers, but do want to notify you that there is a delay. We are trying to keep certain items in stock, but our location is an office, and we are not setup to keep a large quantity of items at our location."

On the positive not they answered my emails quickly and professionally. They asked me if I want to cancel my order which I did.
There was a Paypal refund the next day. Quick, professional handling.

Just wanted to give a heads up for other strommers. I guess I have to bite the shipping bullet.

You might want to call around to your local motorcycle shops to see if any of them can order Givi products. That is what my son did when he purchased the bike I now have. He found that our local Suzuki dealer could order the Givi hard bags and racks he wanted. He showed them how much Twisted Throttle was asking for the bags sans shipping and the local shop gave him the same price. Got his bags and racks in about 3 weeks later.
Thanks for the tip. For some reason I always go online to find stuff, and the secondary is the physical store. Mainly because when I ask about engine guards at bike shops they just look at me with big eyes.
