Hi all,

Been creeping around for a few months and figured I'd pop in and say hi. I have a lightly used 2019 DL650. Picked it up with 3k on the clock. Up to 7300'ish now. Bought it because I couldn't find a T7 and this was 2nd on my list, tied with a KLR. I had a 2nd gen KLR for a good while and loved it. But, the 'Strom won as I use it to ride 25 miles on the freeway to work, 50 miles round trip. Strom wins there.
I do wish it was better off road, but that being said, it's impressive where I've taken it so far once you learn to trust it and know it's limits. I guess I'm still uneasy about that front end.
I bought it to commute to work, bike camp, explore AZ, play on trails, play in the twisties, etc. All in all, pretty happy with it.
Anyway, hello and cheers from Mesa AZ.

Welcome from So Cal !
Nice bike!
Welcome from New Mexico!
Welcome I see you’re in Mesa - several good day rides in your area. Try west of I17 - Prescott, Skull Valley, Jerome - highways 89 and 89a are favorites. Have been in the area a few times and wish I had riding that good nearer to me.

Agreed. Also Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona to Flagstaff.
Thanks for the welcome!

Oak Creek Canyon is nice. We got stuck there over the summer during construction and it was pretty nasty just sitting there in the sun though. Just bad timing. But yes, beautiful ride otherwise.

I'm about 30 seconds from Bush Highway/Salt River. I hang out there a lot just for a quick evening ride. Tortilla Flats and what's left of the Apache Trail are also frequented often as they're close.
I hit up the ride to Payson and/or Heber here and there. That pic with the horses is up in Heber with my brother. Love it up there. Great trails and views. Payson through Happy Jack to Flagstaff is a pretty ride as well.
I'm definitely thankful to live in area with such quick and easy access to some nice rides.

Thanks again yall!

Welcome to the forum from another Mesa rider. I love the ride to Tortilla Flats. Do an occasional ride to Payson. Riding over the Mingus mountains into Jerome has always been a favorite. PM me if you're looking to expand your riding group.
