Not to be nit picky here, but what he said was "After a stop, when I turned the key on, CHEC appeared where the clock was." He is describing a point just prior to cranking. At that point, the CHEC light does come on if the kill switch is in the off position.

Noticed today on my trip in CO. After a stop, when I turned the key on, CHEC appeared where the clock was. Happened a couple of times but bike started OK. Later clocked showed all the time. Don't have my manual out here, any thoughts? TIA-Ian, Iowa
BTW, enjoying the Wee in the CO twisties. Have to adjust my passing after riding an FJR for 6 years.
