Cheap mail order NGK plugs from the UK

Just ordered some plugs from the UK with very reasonable shipping. The Green Spark Plug company has the NGK MR8E-9 for a fraction of what the Canadian dealers want. Shipping was very reasonable. I have had very good luck ordering items from the UK recently. They usually arrive in a surprisingly short time. We'll see this time.

Just make sure you check them before you install them. Lots of fake NGK plugs around

Exactly what I was thinking. The Chinese are making counterfeit everything from thumb drives to spark plugs. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Will do, thanks. Seems to me in other markets where 125s use the same plug, the price is a lot cheaper.

Yes, I am skeptical, but apparently in Australia and other markets the MR8E-9 is widely available at reasonable cost, rather than a dealer only plug like in Canada. Since the company appears to have been around a while (Looks to be!) and they sell tools, wire and other Spark plug related stuff, I figured I'd take a chance.

Possible. I can buy Givi/Kappa/Shoei a whole lot cheaper in Europe so it could be legit. I just know that I got burned on some too good to be true NGK plugs a couple years ago - luckily they looked off so I researched it before I ever installed them.

Unless it is a fake type site, their About Us page looked confidence inspiring to me. Of course, I am only one step away age wise from where I get calls from my "Grandson" saying he is in jail and to send funds. ..

I've had good luck buying from this reseller of NGK plugs. Not huge savings over local but good when local dealers don't have stock.

Yes, I was going to order from them, but then saw they did not have the exact same part number on theirs. I believe the one they have is Iridium.
It looks like the MR8E-9 is discontinued and replaced with the Iridium version IMR8E-9 . Not listed anymore on the NGK website either.

Found this thread re: the MR8E9 from a couple of years ago. The elusive NGK MR8E-9 spark plug
My last set of Sparkplugs came from The Green Spark Plug Company as a few folks on the UK V-Strom forum were recommending them and saying they'd used them for a while.

I have as well, they seemed genuine enough when I checked them before install.

Thing is the plugs come in two sets of packages, the normal ones seen in retail outlets and what are basically cartons for OEM's. The UK suppliers appear to be buying the OEM packaging and shipping from that.

I'd trust that more than Amazon :)
I have been buying hard to find in OZ NGK plugs and glow plugs from the UK for many years.

They seem to have a lot more old stock.

No problems as yet.
Suzuki dicked us by introducing a new and rare spark plug.
Same plug family as used in BMW's. So it's not rare, just expensive :)

That NGK plug is used in 125cc Suzukis in other markets and it is cheap there. My mail order UK plugs arrived very quickly. Bike is running fantastic. Even though the old ones looked great, the gap was off at 17,0000 km.

Thanks for the info. The prior Suzuki plugs were widely available in North America and also had local cross reference. So yes for nominal improvement, Suzuki dicked us.
