Hi guys.

Several years ago, I changed the orange hue of a Nokia phone screen and keyboard, replacing some surface mounted LEDS. No big deal.

Could that be done with the instrument panel of the Glee? My previous bike (GSR750) had an almost identical panel, but its back light was white. That's what I want to achieve.
The phone had no dimmer function. The bike does.

Any advice or counter advice before I decide to dismantle my poor bike?

If you feel comfortable changing surface mount LEDs, you could try and you're aware of the risks.

Ditto what GW said...surface-mount boards can be temperamental at best to "re-work", and that is assuming you have the right equipment. Taking changes modifying a phone may be considered lower risk than modifying an expensive instrument panel.

While I don't know (yet) Its very likely the LED brightness is a PWM signal to make them dimmer. This means that any led that is the correct voltage should work.

The real question is if they are 12V, 5V, or 3.3V...

I decided to let the dash panel alone.

Too risky

Thanks a lot for your replies.
