Hubby & I just acquired '09s and are so very happy! Would appreciate input on com systems. We have Gmax helmets that we think are spiffy, well vented, safety lite on the back, shields function well with gloves on.
We also need to outfit our bikes for travel and welcome input on bags.
If you're riding in Central Oregon, hit us up!

A friend and I bought the Scala Rider Q2 Pro multiset last year and are happy with them. The sound works great for about a one block distance between bikes. Crystal Clear. Blutooth friendly.

The only complaint i have is that once you install it in the helmet, the mic gets in the way when your not using it, which is most of the time. I could have pulled it out again, but wanted to leave it in place for the speakers. I just wish the microphone could be detached. Guess i could look at a hacky fix for that sometime, but it would mean cutting through the mic support.

These are fairly cheap on ebay now as they are an older model.

Here's the thread for the Dalles gathering:

There's getting to be enough of us on here, we're going to have to arrange for a Central Oregon meet and greet and ride!

As far as luggage, if my wee didn't already have happy Trails bags on it, I would have gone with a Giant Loop Great Basin Bag. That's because I do a lot of off pavement and "plan" on laying the bike down on occasion. Soft bags handle that a lot better than hard luggage. Giant Loop stuff is designed by guys right here in Central Oregon. If you're looking for hard bags, the Happy Trails stuff is really nice.

That's not a bad idea, A central O meet and greet before the Rally. Maybe start out with breakfast or end up in Fossil or Mitchell for lunch.

Love the burgers at http://littlepinecafe.com/ at least 4-5000 calories with fries.

Central Oregon Meet & Greet

I'm up for a meet & greet. Riding this Saturday with a rag tag group, have a busy summer planned. Get something on the books? May 26,27th?

I started a Central Oregon meetup thread/rider list over in the Northwest Forum. Hopefully that can become a useful thread for all things Central Oregon! If you live in Central Oregon, go ahead and post up there and I'll put you on the list. I didn't do this to take away from kchili's original post, I just thought this thread might get lost as it is in the General Discussions forum
