Well, this will work. I just use my "T" handled spring puller and a screw drive or small pry bar and snap them in place.

 

People used to just tie a shoelace to a rear wheel spoke and the other end to the spring Turn the wheel to pull out the spring.

Just in case your bike centerstand has a similar design this procedure may save you some grief.

...installed OE Honda centerstand today to my new '22 Africa Twin DCT ...read lots of reviews about the struggle to install the two springs, ...had a beer while setting up the parts, and decided to use my comealong for those nasty springs, ...super easy a knuckle saver for sure.

1. Found a good anchoring point at the end of my driveway
2. Drove a metal bar a few inches deep
3. Used some tie wire to connect the comelong to a bar at the lowest point
4. Used some tie wire to connect the spring to the comealong
5. Put the bike in 1st gear and wedge the rear wheel, as seen in pictures:
6. easy peasy 5 min both springs on...You're welcome

You are never boring, my friend. That is by far the most entertaining and Rube Goldbergian method of avoiding buying a $15 Motion Pro spring hook that I've seen yet.
