Ok, I want to hook up my gps and I've read about using the heated grip output for power. But I can't find it! Looked above the radiator 3 times at the harness and I don't see any connection or orange/green wire. I even took the tank off yesterday and still can't find the wire. I'd like a switched connection, but it's looking like I'll have to just go back to the battery. Help!

Ok, it's an 07 Wee.
O.K. The heated grips switched power connector is a white dual wire plug found underneath the tank, and underneath the airbox. Suzuki will sell you the other half of the plug with some wires on it as the plug is very difficult to work on. put a suitable connector on the other end to make your switched power source accessible for future mods.

Please put your state and bike model in your information - it makes helping so much easier.

Eastern Beaver sells a connector kit: https://easternbeaver.com/Main/Bike_Specific/VStrom/vstrom.html
The best way to get to it is by dropping the radiator down and forward to gain access. If I remember right it sites on top of the radiator air flow shroud.

Found this link to an earlier thread on the subject. http://www.stromtrooper.com/dl650-dl650a-2004-2011/73183-heated-grips-wiring-photo-connector-location.html

Google is your friend. Sometimes its better to look for images rather than a regular search. That's how I found it.

Wiring 101

Somewhere there is, or was a thread called "Wiring 101" with full pics and instructions, and alternative power sources - but I cannot find it!

Thank you! - so THAT'S why I could not find them. I used Basic V-Strom Wiring 101 7+ years back when I was new to forums.
