I want a touring style boot, waterproof, comfortable, and something that my foot won't drown in sweat during warmer temps.

Thats a tall order, but they have worked well for me. Rode with them from the mid 20's to the mid 90's on a trip to Ca and the northwest last spring and they worked well for me. Have had them for about 2 years now and love em. They did get a little warm going across Nev, but they were great coming back through Oregon and Idaho for 400+ mi of snow, rain, and freezing rain at about 31 deg. I don't think you can get a waterproof boot that doesn't get a little warm when it really gets hot out.

 

I love my Oxtar Boots. I've worn them in the low-30's to the highs of 110 or so. At 110 my feet and socks got a little sweaty. There are no boots that are going to help with that type of heat. Plus, they are extremely comfortable.

 

Damn fine boots! In the Summer months when it's impossible to NOT get all sweaty, I was always surprised at how dry my feet were. About a year ago, Oxtar pulled all of their touring style boots from the US market except for the Matrix. Since then, all the new Oxtar boots are redesigned so the velcro closure is at the top of the boot which is a great improvement.

The boot is a bit roomy, so you might need to add a thick insert to get the right fit.

Do you have a source for where you can get these currently in the US? I have heard great things about these boots, and I have read that the BMW Savannah boot and the Oxtar Infinity are the same, but BMW wants $325 for the Savannah. Sorry but one I don't want to where something BMW when I ride a Zuk, or pay a premium for a machine to stamp BMW into the leather. If I could find the Infinity though I would definetly give them a look.

I'm so paranoid they're going to pull these boots that I might have to buy an extra pair.

 

I've worn the boots for long periods of time at temps ranging between 25-105f. Above 90f they get a little warm, but not uncomfortably so. I don't ever recall my feet sweating or them being uncomfortable. Below 40f for extended rides, they are good for about an hour with normal socks. After that a pair of wool socks, or heated socks (very nice) will be needed.

They of course offer good protection, craftsmanship, and are definitely waterproof.

 

Like everyone else has said, they get a little toasty above 90, but every boot I've ever owned does.

I'll also vouch for their crash worthiness at 55mph. I'd rather not elaborate, but one of my Oxtar shod feet was pinned under the bike at 55mph while skidding across the concrete for a good 70 or 80 feet. No broken bones, and while it did make a tiny hole all the way through the leather to the side of my big toe, I was able to ride home.

Good, solid, SAFE boots.

 

I love my Oxtar Infinity so much I got my next pair early in case they stop making them. I got mine through cycle gear they had to order them from Helmet House, got them in 2 days. Expensive at $299. They are so comfortable I sometimes find I still have them on a couple of hours after I'm back from a ride.

 

I love my Matrix boots. I got them just a bit on the larger side. Depending on the temp. I use a full length sole insert so I can adjust the type of sock I am wearing with them. By using different socks one can gain a lot of comfort at various temps.

I have used a lot of different boots on both street and off-road bikes over the past 40 years. I can't say anything negative about the Matrix. I don't even remember what they cost. The sales lady was right, once you own them you won't care what the price was.

Winter or summer, wet or dry, they do the job and do it well.
