So, I did a bit of research on here and found someone had the same symptoms as me (FI light followed by a dead battery two days later).

I bout a new battery, and my FI light is still there and the bike won't idle too well.
I paperclipped the diagnostic connector and sure enough, I get error code C40.

I assume the Idle speed control valve (if that's what ISC means) controls the secondary butterflies. Is it possible that wires going to it are shorting, or that the valve is trying to open/close the butterflies even with the ignition off? That would explain the trouble code and the battery drain.

It's really windy today, but at least it's not raining. Maybe I should go take the bike apart now while I can?

Does anyone have any input or experience with this ISC valve?
