Brake Line Replacement

Hi, I am in the middle of installing a set of ROX risers (pivoting), and need to lengthen the front brake line. (there is no way that just re-routing works)
I am hoping to use a new top line and connect it directly to the hard line that runs to the ABS (pic below).

By doing this, I will get rid of the square connector that Suzuki uses.
Is anyone aware if this block is really needed?

Secondly, does anyone know of a good brake shop that can make a new line up for me. I live in Barrie Ontario.
I have seen some line kits where you can buy the line and the connector ends and make it yourself, but I'm not sure how good that would be. If anyone has had experience with that I would be happy to know.

I just screwed the connector out of the suzuki square block and took it into a local hydraulic hose company and they made me a new one 2" longer took them about 3 hours. Im in Calgary they were called Greenline hose. I see they have locations in Ont. but any hose company can do this for you or just buy the line from Adventure tech

Did they make a new line re-using the square block, or does your new line just have a female connector that screws right onto the solis line with the male connector?
I will also look up Greenline here, so thanks for the lead.

I have been also looking at Adventure tech, but I can only find either the full kit or the brake/clutch kit. I sent an email to confirm the parts, but never got a response from them. I think I would rather get rid of that block anyways. Thanks for the reply though, its appreciated.

I did mine in 2016 so the memory is not fresh but if I remember correctly the line connector screws right into the square block I do remember I needed to take the rad off in order to get a good purchase on the block line
This is the old thread
I just went out and looked at the bike and it appears that the block is not there and it is a straight connect to the ridged line. They must have used the block to know the size of the fitting for a connecter to go straight into the hard line. I used a small zip tie to secure it to the old block bracket. Hope that makes sense. Try to get in touch with Rick at adventuretech about just buying the 1 line, he must have a poor email because I tried to get a hold of him a month ago about a top box plate and he never answered.

that does make sense, and what I am looking at doing. Only difference is my 2018 has ABS, but I can't imagine that matters. Thanks for the insight Cal.

My 2012 also has ABS
Here you go. Suzuki DL V-Strom 650 with ABS Front Brake Line Kit
You can also call Galfer and order custom lines or they offer a 2" extention line.
You may want to replace all 3 lines. Rubber lines degrade from the inside out. They will get soft and reduce braking effectiveness and will also shed debris into your ABS. Replacing old rubber lines with steel braided lines is a low cost brake upgrade.
Rick is kinda slow on emails but he has good customer service once he gets on board. It's a small mom and pop business and he's pop. You can also DM him here on Stromtrooper.
It's too bad someone removed the block. It's is mounted rigidly and is a good transisiton for the flex to rigid brake lines. You do not want rigid lines to have any induced vibration or movement.

Thanks Cal, I appreciate the information you have given. Now I just have to get it done and back on the road.
