I am looking to head down to Boston in late April with my wife, brother in law and his wife (flying in). I was wondering if any locals could provide some insight into where to stay that is not too expensive ($150 range per night). Is there a subway accessible area that is less expensive for hotels than downtown Boston with free parking? Is Cambridge any better? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, we were thinking of driving down to Cape Cod afterwards, but not sure where best to stay. If anyone has any suggestions on a good place to stay for a couple of nights.

Thanks.

Lodging in Boston and Cambridge is way too expensive. Better to stay at one of the public transit terminal points and take the train downtown. Orange, blue and red are trains, green is a trolley line. Purple is commuter rail.

Cape Cod is no problem in April.

A better solution is to find a room or apartment you can stay at on airbnb.com.
Lots less expensive than a hotel & you can stay in Boston, or the neighboring areas. Meet some great people this way too.
