As promised here is the procedure/pics of the Blue Sea 5025 mounting.

First Parts. You will need a Fuse box of your choice (I went with Blue Sea 5025), Red 10 Guage wire for + from Battery and Relay, Black 10 Gauge for negative terminal on battery, 18 Guage wire for Relay trigger and a 30 Amp relay that you can easily find at your local parts store.

Take off the seat and remove the rear luggage rack. Luggage rack is held on by four bolts. Next Remove the two screws at the side on the rear fender. Pull the fender off slowly and set it upside down on the top of you bike. The hot wire for the taillights that are on when the ignition is on are grey shown the the pic below:

I slowly cut off the end of the translucent electical cap to expose the crimped connector on the inside.

I pushed back the cap some flattened out crimped connection and then took a female electrical connector

and connected it to the end

then added the 18 Guage Wire

I then ran all of the wires to the relay and battery using the appropriate elecrical connections for each

Finally tidy up. I used Industrial velcro to keep the box mounted.

Relay wiring and is shown elsewhere on the site, and I don't have it by memory, but it is straightforward and if you really need it I can figure it out again.

I will be mounting a Garmin Streetpilot 2730 as soon as I get in the mount and will take pics of it too.

I've just ordered one of those and I have a question...

The black wire running from the relay to the fuseblock, what is it for?

It's the ground wire for the relay coil. It completes the circuit from the tail light positive so when the ignition is turned on the relay throws.

Greywolf has it right. You could also run it to the neg terminal on the battery, but the since the neg bus is electrically equivalent, it is just like hooking it to neg terminal.

Lol, Thx!

Can I hook it to any - terminal on the block? Also, if you feel like it, can you tell me which wire is hooked up to which relay pin? (By pin numbers)?

Btw, greywolf, love the new Avatar!

Just posted a report of my own Blue Sea install here - managed to jam two of them side by side. I like your tap into the taillight - I just peeled off some of the taillight wire jacket and soldered my relay trigger wire directly to it, but the connecter looks cleaner.
