However more important is to make sure that the brake fluids (front and rear) have been changed regularly. The 2012 year (at least in NA) has a higher frequency of ABS issues than other years. Maybe caused by exhaust heat. Anyway frequent fluid changes are likely the best precaution against ABS issues. If there is no record or proof of any changes I would pass this one.

Hmm, I wonder if it works for Kangaroos.6th gear on V-Stroms also seems to produce a distinctive whine. No idea why. Occasionally someone poses the theory that that whine seems to have a warning effect on deer, so stroms don't seem to have bad encounters with deer.
