Big Bend Ntl Park and Big Bend State Park are worth the trip everytime. Head over to Two Wheeled Texans and post up there. WE have a few members that live in that area full time and ride it all the time.
Pretty much every road in the Ntl Park is passable by VSTROM when dry. Big Bend State Park is a 30 mile gravel road just to get to the entrance and some of the roads are quite rough.
Plenty of paved stuff to ride out there as well. McDonald Observatory is an awesome day time visit and night time visit when they have star partys. The Prada store in the middle of no where, The Marfa lights, Terlingua and the Star Light Theater. There's so much to see and do out there you probably won't be able to do it in on trip.
I was just out in Big Bend a few weeks ago (in my car sadly) and it was worth it. I need to get my strom out there asap!
Also, are you by any chance the other strom I passed out in Elgin a week or so ago....I was on a red dl650 with side and top cases. That was the first strom I've seen out here since we moved out of the city.
I was there last month as well and wish I could roll out there with you on your trip. Some of the best Tex Mex in the country. Chili Pepper Café is not to be missed! Amazing breakfast burritos and delicious burgers.
Wound up behind a white newer model Strom in little old Erwin, NC this afternoon on the way home from work. Gotta love 70+ degree weather in December and it's good to see like-minded Strommers out there taking advantage of it.
