Ordering up for the new 2014 VStrom I just picked up. I have the SW Motech centerstand on my 650 but OEM crash bars and a Weld86 skid plate which is ugly but functional. I want the least expensive combo that works together (skid and cs) and looks great and are easy to intall. I guess it would be nice to be able to get the oil filters off with the skid on but not necessary.

Thanks. I do see some posts that the Givi crash bars often vibrate quite a bit above certain rpm's.

I have OEM centerstand, Ravetech skid plate, and Givi crash bars. They all fit together splendidly. I have had no problems with vibrations from the bars.

2thDr above said he had some fitting to do with the OEM crash bars and Ravetech skid plate. I would just as soon skip that kind of effort.

Yeah, ditto on the Givi bars. They are quality units. You can save a bunch on Givi stuff from this retailer in Italy ;

Cool. I also order from nearly everywhere. Is shipping not bad?

The fit problem is the Ravetech plate with the OEM crash bars. From what I have read, if you have Givi crash bars the Ravetech skid plate fits fine.

Nice farkle list. Congrats on the new bike. Have you seen the sw-motech skid plate in person? Seemed a little cheap to me. Some have reported loose / broken rivets. Ive got the Touratech on order for my 650.

I have not seen one in person. That is what I want to hear. The Weld86 on my 650 is functional but ugly. I won't get another one of those either. Will the Touratech work fine with the various crash bars and centerstand?

I have the Givi crash bars. They do not vibrate and I recommend them. Honestly I wonder a lot about some of the competitive statements and their origins.

My SW Motech skid pan vibrates like crazy at about 3600 to 3800 rpm. The Givi is much cheaper and is all most V-Strom owners will ever need. A rock guard for the oil filter and the best looking of the bunch IMO.

Givi seems to be taking the lead.

I just love that Givi 'skid diaper' with the convenient hole cut in it to let the header out? Smart!

Ok here is the revised list. Will everything work together? The cost is dropping.

I already ordered a RavTech GPS mount.
