My Wife and I were at our local dealership the other day.
They sell Suzuki, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Spyders and some seedoos.

I had a sit on the new 650 and mentioned to my Wife how much lighter it feels compared to the old one. I'm guessing it's not but just feels like it.

We're on good terms with the owner and have done some work for him in the past. He wandered over to say hello and told us the new vstrom is now the best seller in the shop.

Finally as a nation with almost 5% motorcycle ownership, we're starting to realise that liter sports bike might not be the best thing for weekend road use. We see more and more adventure type bikes on weekend rides these
days.

I bought the new aprc Tuono a few months ago. It's a great bike on the track
but shortens my spine by about an inch every time I ride it on the road.
I put about 5 kms on the wee to every one that goes on the Aprilia.

My Wife was in the market for a new bike. She doesn't like twins though, so couldn't convince her on the new "Glee" or what ever it may be called.

We've ordered a new Tiger 1050se in red. Should be fun trying to keep up on the wee. The dealer is looking around for one but we'll probably have to wait till August for one to arrive.

One of these days I'll treat myself to a new 650.:hurray:

well if you do get a new '12 v-strom and your missus has a ride on it, it will completely change her view on twin engines.

Yup, I think so too. When I went to have my first service, I asked him if the bike was ready and he said that the mechanic is taking it for a ride to make sure that everythings good. 20 minutes later, the owner comes too me and says that there was one small problem after the test ride................... The mechanic did not want to return it . That was the first '12 Wee that he has serviced and said it was truly the best bike he has ridden to date.

I've had a couple of KTM's that have put her off twins.
Come to think of it, she did like the wee when she rode it.

Might be able to save a few bucks here.:hurray:

I'm curious about the comparison with the Tiger 1050.

I need a bike with plenty of knee room and would like more boost than the DL's have. But I also live in a city and a bike that generates a lot of heat won't fly.

Hi Garandman.

I think the delivery date on the 1050 is going to be August.
I had a KTM smt which has more leg room than the Triumph.
I miss it sometimes. KTM here in AU has just smashed the price on them.
The new ones have abs as well. Don't buy one for resale value though.
Expect it to be worth around half of the new price in a year:jawdrop:

traded my Tiger 1050 in on new v-strom

The Tiger is a very nice bike. Triumph's quality is equal to or better than the Japanese. It is a fast/very smooth bike.
I was going to buy the new Triumph Adventure but it seemed a bit heavy. At 65 I wanted something smaller...hence the 2012 V-strom.
The Tiger gives a much smoother ride...but it is a totally different bike...and much more $$$$.
