Got out today for the first time in about a month. Logged about 200 miles. Nice and warm. No heated gear, didn't even turn on the heated grips. And because we've had very little snow so far this year, there was hardly any sand on the roads. I tried getting off the tarmac, but that was a mistake. It looked dry and fairly hard, but in fact was greasy slop. :surprise:

It may very well be another month or more before I get out again. Remember last year? Winter got a late start and didn't stop until the end of March. I couldn't get my bikes out of the shed until April. So, let's hope for early spring this year.

Agree! I did a 3 mile trail run then went out for a 115 mile ride up 1A along the ocean up into Maine, then inbound and looped back home on some fine roads! I only had an Under Armour shirt on and heated liner and gloves, which I did use on & off. I don't have Barkbusters yet so the fingers got a bit nippy. Averaged 58.7 mpg :)

Long term forecast for next weekend is near a foot of snow... but it is winter...

Did the same, it was a great day for a ride, got about 200mi on in central Mass and norther Ct. One stretch of dirt road near the Yale forest was pretty greasy!! I rode it to work this morning so i could wash it. I was surprised at how few bikes I saw out yesterday.

I passed about 100 bikes on my ride up the coast. Mostly Hardleys, a GS1200 and another GS1200 with a guy wearing no helmet, sneakers, jeans and light jacket. But every single biker waved (except the guy with no helmet) :)

63° outside as I type this from my home office... gotta work till 5 so it'll be too late to get another ride in before dark. I won't ride in the dark with sand and stuff on the roads in winter.

Didn't get out on the bike but I commute on it every weekday. Got a lot done on the boat I'm rebuilding though. So does that count?

I did pull the bikes off the tenders and get them out of he garage today. Fired them up and ran for a bit around the driveway. Roads are still white from all the chems in the salt up this way so even though tempted to go for a ride I resisted...

I've been getting the odd hour or 2 on the bike in the mornings before work (I'm on 2nd shift) or on my days off, but I wasn't able to get out Sunday morning, was helping my son with his Jeep. Looked like a great day for it.
I live close to the Rhode Island border so I've been exploring the back roads and small towns down that way. Would love to head up North for a day long ride once the weather gets up in the 50's for good.

i'm half way between Boston and RI border. I usually head north when I have the time but if I only have a half a day or so I sometimes head down to RI. Some good riding in the western half of the state, near CT. I like to go into the Twisted Throttle store and drool over all the goodies.

Same here, I'm less than an our from Twisted Throttle. I've bought a centerstand and battery tender from them and most recently the X-creen add on winshiels thing. It looks like the one that comes on the Adventure model Wee, seems to work ok and is adjustable.

I live up on the North Shore and have ridden through 23 states so far, and Rhode Island isn't one of them :-( I've got to get there this year and explore CT more. Hopefully we can all hook up some weekend!
