I think we should aim to have the (an?) Annual Barrie Spring Ride on May 7th so Keith can bring us Oranges.

Anyone else game? @Heavy @Juan Tanamera ?

...
If you and I are lucky, really lucky, Juan Tanamera or Heavy or somebody will organize a ride, on ABOUT (hint to Sean & Jim or even Tom who reads everything) May 7 2017 at 9:00 AM, beginning at the Esso station at Essa Road in Barrie, and you can there meet lots of kindred spirits, and maybe visit Muskoka, a little early in the season, but what the heck. If we are REALLY lucky, I will show up and give everyone a fresh Florida orange. Long way, yes, but again what the heck.
...
The above was in this post: http://www.stromtrooper.com/4515130-post10.html

(No Keith I don't read everything but do read a lot of the posts, especially if the titles are descriptive.)

I don't know my work schedule yet that far out - if I'm free I'll be up for this again. Even though we didn't end up doing this last year, I think the routes and details were all posted up.

A large serving of both, please!

To bad that so many of us (Stromtroopers) will be riding roads of West Virginia...
I have no sympathy for you at all. Riding the roads of West Virginia is a treat.
Often, I have pulled a motorcycle, sometimes a V-Strom, through West Virginia,
and heard a whining sound coming from the trailer. My best guess is that the bike
was trying to tell me that I should take it off the lousy trailer and ride it instead.

If I attend the ride from Barrie to Muskoka, and believe me I very much want to,
I will take my usual route both ways, including a large helping of West Virginia.

You can always stop by in Romney on your way North. I would be very happy to have one of your oranges again
If I go via Romney WV, I will be there May 3, so it would be good if you will be there then too.

Usually I go farther west than Romney, but I might explore a new route and deliver an orange. Please give me the street address in or near Romney, remind me (in private if you choose) of your name, and above all, do not hold your breath.

Best wishes,
Keith

P.S. It seems the event is May 5 through May 7. Please do not expect me.

I have not seen such enthusiasm since Stephen Harper's most recent campaign speech.

I am gathering my wits and strength for the ride to Ontario,
and I say the odds are in my favour to make it.
That means those odds are in YOUR favour if you like oranges ... but only if the ride happens.

Juan Tanamera did an excellent job of leading the ride last time I attended,
and I offer to buy him lunch if he repeats as the ride leader.

I expect I will have a few voltmeters and other trinkets,
and maybe even some Florida Lottery tickets.

If I could bring some Florida weather, I certainly would. Summer is here,
and it is working out very well for me. Gloves??? What mean that?

Every year, either on Mothers Day or the first Sunday in May, there is a native plant sale in High Park which I help organize and work at.
This year it is on May 7th and I'm working the weekend prior and Mothers Day is the weekend after - so I'm likely not able to make any rides in the spring, unless they are on a Saturday.

I may be able to finesse a day off work mid-week and go up for a ride, but won't know that until the start of May. If you all decide to do the ride on a Sunday, I can share the routes we did in years past with scenic spots and bathroom breaks worked in.

Cheers!

Thank you very much, sir. I hope your plant sale is a great success.
Could the Barrie-and-northward ride happen on Saturday May 6 instead?
If it did, would you lead it?

I hope to read some opinions fairly soon. It makes no sense for me to have a major part in scheduling this ride, because I am so far away from Ontario, and besides I ride slowly and I'm bowlegged and my shoes are scuffed ...

Cancelling this ride.

Since I originally proposed this ride for Keith and Keith isn't coming and no one else seems interested I'm not doing this ride.

(But I'm sure I'll be riding somewhere just the same.)
