Look what I saw on motorcycle.com today. The link went right to Amazon. Does anyone have experience with these? Are the stock footrests aluminum? The stock footrest are ~$70 each. These are $12.50 for a set. I'd be concerned they would fail the first time some extra pressure is applied. Is this a "get what you pay for" type of product?

I have a set of cheapies that I ordered off of ebay, from this auction.

"Aluminum Front Footrest Foot peg For Suzuki V Strom 650 VStrom 1000 DL650 DL1000"

$9.39 + $3.99 shipping.

I actually bought them for the rubber, since the OEM footpeg rubber costs far more.

The quality of the castings isn't quite up to OEM, but I don't know enough to say whether they are safe. If I had a friend with an ultrasonic tester, I'd ask them to take a look.

I tried Buell alunimum pegs one one bike and they snapped when the bike fell over at no mph in the driveway.
Some stuff is better served using stouter material.
