thanks ct wee. looks like 4 3/4". i'm at work and want to order a couple screws from an online source in shelton, ct (the nutty co.)since i have alum bars and found a nice set of bar end inserts to use instead of the 5/16" fuel hose. i can't seem to tighten the bar ends to keep them from spinning.

I was just messin' with ya in my earlier post. :p

But if you can't tighten the bar ends, then the nut that you are supposed to be screwing into has either fallen, or has been pushed into the handlebar. There have been a few threads on this in the past (one i've contributed to and learned from). I had to use a flashlight and a coat hangar to fish it out. Others have used an air compressor on the other end to blow it out.

Another small bit of the weight assembly to watch for if you take it apart is the washer. I had a devil of a time with my left bar weight because I lost the washer that goes near the nut at the end and didn't realize it was missing until I posted my problem on another forum.

thanks ct wee. that was funny. i was using 5/16 hose, but didn't like the loose feeling. i bought a set of aluminum bar end expanders that i used my stock bar end screws with. works great now.

i will update w/part numbers from parts unlimited
