Hi from France,Chain is ok (i have scottoiler)
Oil is on F Mark.
Bike is ok and get high rpm very well, but all of this things are killing my travel. I feel insecure on the Road.
My old cb500 of 1996 is smiling now. No electronics, no problems
Hi Bernard.Hi from France,
I think it's better to go to a dealer before you make things worse. Where are you in the Pyrenees?

Hi!Is the oil motorcycle rated oil? If its normal car synthetic it can make the clutch act weird in certain scenarios.
Thinking positive has been known to reverse mechanical failures. I say ride it until it stops dead along the side of the road then hitchhike to you next hotel and don't forget to post how Suzuki let you down. No sense taking a 1/2 hour out of you trip to ride to the nearest dealership and have them diagnose/correct the problem. Thanks for the advice, man. However, even though Pamplona is half an hour away, deviating from the route might mean changing hotel reservations (I don't know how long it will take to check the bike, 2 hours or a whole day) and other things.
I'm a perfectionist with my bikes, and I only enjoy the trip when I know that my machine is perfect, but I'm going to be practical this time.
The bike is under warranty and if something serious happens, let Suzuki fix it. As long as the bike allows me to travel and something really serious doesn't happen, I'll keep going. I will try to think positive. Wish me luck.

Believe me, it would be great to do that you say, but going back would mean breaking all hotel reservations (not one, many). Since I'm on the road, it's one hotel per night. That's 7 hotels, and booking without advance is impossible.Thinking positive has been known to reverse mechanical failures. I was beginning to wonder why the question was even asked if the advice was ignored ...
None of my business, and my opinion is worth everything you paid for it. Just saying, if it were me, I'd be more concerned about the cost of being stranded completely if I let a little thing become a big thing by not addressing it pronto. And it sounds like you've ruled out all the little things ...I asked the question to find out if anyone else had had this happen, and if so, to find out the level of severity.
The bike runs reasonably well and performs decently, but obviously that sound has me very concerned.
Well.. You're right.. but, what I'll do is I'll get on the phone with the nearest dealer tomorrow, and I'll hear their opinion.None of my business, and my opinion is worth everything you paid for it. Not to mention it sounds like you're going to have trouble relaxing and enjoying the trip with this hanging over you.
Not sure how riding 1/2 hour out of your way is an inconvenience. Call the hotel tell them you'll be late check-in and put in a longer day.Believe me, it would be great to do that you say, but going back would mean breaking all hotel reservations (not one, many). On the other hand, if I go to the dealer, and the problem is serious... my vacation is over.. and some hotels do not accept cancellation. I will lose a lot of money.
About Suzuki, if the bike is under warranty and something serious happens... they should fix it, it's a law.
What year and model, and how many miles?Guys, as some of you know a couple of days ago I was talking about a little jerking at low rpm (it's hard to go 20 mph in first gear).
I'm on a trip through the French Pyrenees, and to the low rpm jerks, now I have to add another new noise...the gearbox.
The bike works fine, but in these last few miles something happens to me that sounds broken.
When I put it in third gear and accelerate, at low speed, (not always) the bike sounds broken, literally. The sound is similar to breaking a dry branch or stomping on a plastic toy.
I am riding in very hot weather (37 celsius). The only change in the last weeks is put synthetic oil on engine (ecstar 7000).
The sound is very very unpleasant, I hope I don't stall on the road.
