Hey All, Made a run from Cornwall to Barrie today. Headed North and took the fun route West. Man, what a perfect day. Weather was ideal and my Strom was hummin'.

The section of road between Calabogie and Griffith had me grinning like a fool, perfect Strom roads.

Did the section from Griffith to Barrie non-stop, only hit 3 red lights. About 270 kms, on a stock 650 seat.

Calabogie to Barrie is a great ride, glad you had fun. Wish I could have been there as I'm in Sarnia right now getting high off solvent fumes.

If that section had you grinning, you should have made a slight route change to take 511 into Calabogie instead of 508. Much nicer pavement than the section from Calabogie to Griffith, lots of nice corners. Often considered the best road in Eastern Ontario.

So that's where it is. I took a quick look at the Great Ontario Bikeroads website but didn't spend the time to figure that one out. Not to fear though, I'll be back.

Not to fear though, 508 from Burnstown into Calabogie is also a fairly nice road.

It really is nice to live close enough that I can make 511 an evening ride, at least in the summer. And a nice Saturday afternoon ride connecting up 511 with the roads out of Calabogie to Griffith. Then following the old Opeongo road up to Barry's Bay.

Lots of great riding in that area that is generally better pavement than the potholes of Quebec. :)

I work for CN, I've been up and down the yard the last week working on a big project. I seen a silver / black Strom at a refinery on Plank Rd, the entrance to the south side of the CN yard is down at the end of the street.

Don't know the Strom you refer to-the only other one around Sarnia, besides ours (both black) I've seen is a burgandy red one. We've met him a couple times out riding in the county.
I work at the Sarnia City Hall and my bike sits every day in the corner of a public parking lot across from City Hall.
We just got back from a weekend ride around the Collingwood area....fantastic riding and weather! Didn't want to come home.:D
