On a scale of 1 - 10 in terms of handiness, I'm about a 2 when it comes to bikes. I'll install guards, windshields, bars, bags etc, but when it comes to messing with ignition, throttle, brake etc, I'm thinking best leave it to someone who knows better. My problem though is this...who knows better?

I really don't know that I trust my shop to take the time to set it up right, and I'm not even sure if they would do it for me.

How do you go about finding someone to install something like this?

I keep finding that on longer slab trips that a cruise would be really nice, and do wonders with my tendancy to "keep up" with cars going by.

Also, is the Audiovox the best option for real CC? It appears to be a favorite by far.

Thanks

Edit: Oh and they don't mention that the switch panel bracket is NOT for Wee-Stroms. I have to call those guys and see if they'll let me return it (its been weeks since I got around to installing it), but once you have everything wired up and you think working, your eye will start twitching when you realize that bracket couldn't possibly fit... then look at the picture online and notice that you have no reservoir on the left hand side, cuz you don't have a DL1000, heh!

I got mine installed. Huge PITA, and lights all turn on like they are supposed to, good vacuum, proper tension, everything is smooth, turns on and off normally, but... doesn't work. *sigh*

Thought I figured it out when I read that LEDs on your rear brake can mess that up, but unplugging the Givi E52 case that has the LED brake lights, still same issue.

*shoots self*

I've installed complete suspensions on my ZX3 and SRT-4, full intercooled turbocharger kits, exhausts, ICE in the Vette, not to mention the other kajillion farkles I have and you name it without batting an eye... the nearly instructionless audiovox is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy though.

Audivox = soul AIDS. You have been warned! :D

Don't get the switch bracket then. I'll make one. LED brake lights don't work because the unit needs to find ground through the brake light filaments. If any brake lights are stock, there shouldn't be a problem. Usually a bad or wrong connection is the problem otherwise. The clutch switch cannot be jumpered either. The web page at http://www.rvbprecision.com/articles/24/motorcycle_electronic_cruise_control and the threads at http://11109.rapidforum.com/area=97 are better than the instructions for getting things done. Mine works fine and I use it a lot.

I'm narrowing down my list of add-ons and my priority is getting an electronic Cruise Control for my K7. I've got things narrowed down to the Audiovox and the Rostro mentioned in other threads (maybe this one, too).

I'm leaning towards the Rostro system (no vacuum) and I just want to make sure that Switch Panel Bracket from Murphs for the Audiovox will work with the Rostro if I go that route- the thread linked elsewhere to the VSRI forums seems to indicate the wiring is all the same). I actually posted over there at the source looking for some more information, but this was already here and I have another relevant question so I'm just leaving this paragraph in. :)

Also, does that come with JUST the bracket, or is there actually a switch integrated into it when you order it? The description makes it sound like you get the switch (basically a 2nd switch if you get the Audiovox?) AND the bracket together, but I just wanted to ask to be sure.
