Thanks for coming along on the ride folks, it was nice meeting you all and checking out all the cool farkles. Great pavement strafing day. I wish that the service at the restaraunt was quicker and that the roads were less sandy but the weather was great. I'll post another ride in a few months, hope to see you folks out again.

The start of the ride, Stroms aplenty. Four Vee's and the rest Wee's.

First stop, Coldwater.

Road up through to Rosseau and 141 were clear and free of traffic. Picture stop, Windamere.

A Strompede

Last stop, Washago

What time did you leave?

I rode up there from Kitchener and missed departure.

I arrived at Essa Rd around 10:27 am.

In my haste to leave home I forgot the route map.

Darn it all ! I really wanted to meet up!

Great ride though.

Next Time.

Thanks Ian for the ride. I had a great time in spite of "the incident"

Total brain fart. My brain was saying countersteer away from the ditch I was STARING at. This fixation thing sucks. (oh and trying to avoid that moose, the baby in the stroller and the litter of kittens)

Just letting you all know I managed to limp home safely. Thanks for the escort Rick.

Taking the bike in to the shop tonight. I think the bill may hurt more than my shoulder does right now. (A visit to the emerg early this morning confirmed a slight ligament tear in my ACl (shoulder). Pretty good considering.)

Thanks for your support guys

Thanks for coming out on the ride Theo, no worries about the countersteering thing, I understand 100%. My wipeout years ago was along similar lines, once you start worrying about where you're going to crash you are there in the weeds. If you look farther through the corner you'll most likely make it. I learned the hard way once too.

Hopefully I see you on a ride again someday,

Me

Thanks Ian
I was starting to consider a for sale sign but that's just a knee jerk reaction. Recognizing what I did wrong is part of the experience. I know I was riding just within my limits and as it got late in the day, fatigue took over.

I hope to ride with you again. Next time I will ride within my comfort level knowing that the group doesn't mind stopping to let the stragglers catch up once in a while. It is a much better option than having to drag someones bike out of a ditch.

ATGATT... My full armour on my back saved me from what could have been a much more serious injury. As it is, I have a minor ligament tear in my shoulder that should be good to go in a few days. My bike might take a little longer.
Once it's fixed, there will be just enough scratches on it to remind me to wear the gear and keep within my limits everytime I get on.

LQQks to me like there was a good turnout with 11 bikes if my counting is accurate  Wish this would have happened last year while I was still in Ontario. I know many of the roads you folks travelled.

I'll recommend Muskoka 13 as part of the next ride. Pick it up just north of Washago and ride it through to Bala. Be careful as the road can be pretty sandy in some of the corners. I consider it to be a mini "Dragon" and it's the road I learned to ride on  My best friend lives right on Muskoka 13

Ian,

Thanks for setting up that ride.
I've been busy at work so this is the first chance I've had to get on the site.
I can't imagine finding a more fun ride anywhere in Ontario.
It was fun meeting everyone, had a great time.
