I'm running 530 setup, SV1000 17t front and sunstar steel 42t rear

like many, I felt the stock 17/41 was a bit too tall for my riding, I only went up 1 in rear to 42, much more common to go up 2 in the rear to 43

Have you checked the speedo or fuel mileage?

I use the speedo in my GPS, if anything, milage has increased but I don't attribute that to the gearing, until about 25k, my milage gradually improved form 39.5 to 42 and no memorable change at 16 when I went from stock to 17/42

I have 17/43 and fuel economy actually got better. Speedo is off probably 15%.

how did you determine the milage, by your odometer that is now reading 5% high or an independent odometer gps or calbrated ?
