The weather since Christmas has been great for riding...I've been trying to catch Strommers in the act (of riding...) but haven't seen anybody out. In the last few days, I've counted a handful of riders...and most of those were on Harley's!

PSU Dad...I've been blitzing through Downingtown almost daily for a few weeks but haven't seen the Vee...Anybody else in the Delaware/Chester county area??

Friday/Saturday were gray and wet, but still good riding. Today, I shot out PA 926 and returned on some great 2-lanes through miles of farm land. Great twisties and hills! Was navigating by a paper map in my tank bag; can't spring for a GPS right now, but it was a detailed map and showed the smallest of roads...which the Wee seemed to sniff out on her own. Oh yeah, the bike is getting sweeter every time out; just passed 4,000 miles and can see that we're a good couple!

Wishing all a happy new year! -Don

well from central Pa, Lycoming county. Been dying to get the Vee out to ride the last few days. Unfortunately I have about 500 yards of ice 2" thick in my driveway to get out to the main roads. Hopeing I can get it out today or tomorrow.

Uh huh

Yep, know whutcha mean. I spent most of Wednesday morning chopping the 2" thick sheet of ice in my driveway. Yesterday my wife, grand daughter and I drove up to Buffalo in her new cage to visit family. It was damn nice here in Olean and we saw several riders out enjoying the clear skies and warm temps. Half way to Buffalo the temp had dropped 10 degrees and the wind was gusting to 45 mph - no fun at all. I'm itching to get out though and if we get anymore nice warm days - I'm there! Ride safe and stay warm.

A taste of sping here!

jstrom and other northeasterners:

The weather here in southcentral PA has been warm and sunny the last four days, rode the wee strom to northern VA over the weekend, felt like April, record high temps in the 70's!, finally hit the 20,000 mile mark as I rolled into the driveway. Yesterday it cooled off some here, only made it to the high forties, rode the DR on the fire roads in Michaux State Forest, it was a little sloppy and there were spots of frozen mud to watch out for, but it was passable, today it's another beautiful sunny day here, but the weather is to change back to wintertime starting tomorrow, it was great while it lasted!

Waiting for the next sunny day,

Jeff (SoPaRider)

Almost

Almost rode this past Sunday as it was in the high forties and sunny here. Instead my wife, grand daughter and I drove up to Buffalo to visit family. The closer we got to Buffalo the colder and windier it got until finally it was freezing and gusting from 45 - 60 mph. Saw three kids on sport bikes and a couple of guys on Harleys in town on our way north. Thats the nature of the weather around here. Buffalo will get a lake effect storm and get three feet of snow and we'll get an inch. Mabey it'll be mild enough to ride to the Cycle World show in Cleveland this year.

Jstrom...in my little corner of the Commonwealth, winter can be extremely forgiving. But I know for a fact that NY state is pretty harsh Nov-Mar. Three of the cities that I cover at work are BUF, ROC, and SYR...on a daily basis, those places have a radical variant to the weather here in PHL.

That's why I try to ride often...cuz I can!! Even if it means constantly dumping Sta-bil at every fill-up, not knowing when the door is going to close on riding. But you guys upstate...you're a special kind of folk to live there year round!

Be safe and soon enough the gorgeous days will be here again!

Atta boy!

Muchos gracias amigo. Thanks for the encouraging thoughts. When I lived in St. Louis, MO nobody ever put their bikes up for the winter 'cause one never knew when the next great riding day was going to come. I remember good days on the bike in all the winter months down there. The summer was another thing though. It can get downright unpleasant riding when its 99F and 100% humid - whew! Stay warm and ride safe.
