I'm wanting to look at getting some riding boots and, most importantly, a good helmet.

I'll be needing to try on a bunch of different brands of helmets, etc. I don't know of any 'superstore' type places near Kansas City that would carry a huge variety of motorcycle gear.

Anybody know of a place like that.....near KC, or anywhere within say a 2-3hr drive of KC, mo.

Thanks guys.

I'm heading to KC this weekend and was wondering the same thing. Here is what I found on Google.

MotorcycleCloseouts, L.L.C.
8168 Monticello Terrace
Shawnee, KS 66227
(913)441-3344

Cycle Gear
9128 Marshal Drive
Lenexa, KS 66215
(913) 307-0420
http://www.cyclegear.com/

I don't know anything about these stores other than what I found on the web. I'll find out this weekend!

Helmet internal shape must match the shape of the rider's head. Comfort, yes, but more important is that the head is fully supported in the inner impact-absorbing liner of the helmet. WebBikeWorld has this: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmet-shapes.htm

I'm probably a medium narrow, and the Scorpion EXO-700 gives me a very good fit. Someone with a round shaped head would hate it.

Cycle Gear is a chain with fair prices and a good return policy. I bought my helmet at a local branch, but they only had a couple of brands and a couple of models of each.

We only went to the Cycle Gear store. There were a ton of helmets there...but I did not see if there was a good selection of various brands. We were looking for ladies gear...which was a small section right in the middle of the store. Might be worth it if you don't have to go to far out of your way...

We did drive by the Motorcycle Closeouts store on the way to our destination...but it didn't look worth getting off the highway.

I guess no store will ever compare to Chaparral Motorsports in SoCal...

There's a better motorcycle closeouts store up north of the river. The store off 7hwy is basically just a small store for people that don't want to ride up north.
