I'm headed to the GP races in Sept. Hoping to get a referral for a local shop that would install/order a couple of sets of tires and not rip me off.

Any recommendations?

My brother lives in Indianapolis and has a store on the south side that does all his work on his Wee. I even had work done there. I will contact him in a few minutes and find out for you. Hey if your going to the MotoGP, so am I and a bunch of others. Your welcome to join us. Are you aware that there are mile dirt track races that weekend also at the State Fairgrounds? I'll be back in touch with more info for you.

Here is the info for a great shop. You can call them and they will quote you the prices on part/tires and labor. In fact when I called my bro he was there getting tires put on his Wee.

Cycle Outfitters
5501 S. Madison Avenue
Indianapolis, IN
Ph: 888.783.2901

You need to ask for Matt, and tell him that Terry Basset referred you to him. He will do you right.

Thanks for the info!!

I appreciate the offer GrayWolf, I'd take you up on that, VERY tempting, but I've never changed my own tires and I'd hate to leave you with 4 worn out m/c tires to dispose of. Very gracious of you.

Bright Side,

This will be my 1st trip to Indy, I was in the state on one of our m/c trips but we skirt as many cities as we can. Haven't heard of any dirt events and not even sure what all will be going on at the track the whole weekend. I assume Friday there won't be a whole lot to do but watch some testing. I figured that would be the best day to get the tires so we would be ready to hit the road after the races.

The flat track dirt races I believe are on a Friday night. If you have never seen one of these it is spectacular. A lot of drafting and lead changes, they start their entry into a turn about 3/4 down the straight away. It is way cool. You might google AMA events and see what comes up. I will keep you posted.

As far as Indiana is concerned there are some really nice roads south, but once you hit North of Bloomington it is the opposite of Deals Gap, 11 turns in 318 miles. I will PM you and give you my information so that you can get in touch.

LOL

Thanks. We will definitely hit y'all up.

We are headed toward Maine the Monday after the races. My goal is to get all the states we haven't ridden in yet. My only "must see" places right now are Niagara Falls and the Maine coast. I want some fresh lobster............

I'm sure we can take you down south to the good roads if you want it. If you are camping I've got a few acres you are free to use. I'm about 10-12 miles from the racetrack.

Offer stands for any campers for the GP. I've got a few tools.. just a couple. But I also have dogs so those with phobia's/allergies need not apply. Only a couple though.. just a few (4).
