I am new to the forum. Just bought a used 06 1000. I am in search for a cost effective luggage solution. So I am thinking of using JCW Top case as side cases or E360s with GIVI or SW-Motech side racks. I already have a Bestem case for the top and the JCWs would match them. I have looked through the threads and have not seen anyone mention having a passenger with this set-up. Has anyone done this and had a passenger ride comfortably? I looked at the pelicans...but the wife shot those down quickly.

This may or may not work. I have seen it done. My JCW case WILL NOT fit my Givi racks.

It seems that there are about a dozen factories churning these out, all with slightly differing dimensions. Finding cases that fit may be a drawn-out process of trial and error. Good luck.

Mine fit fine after a slight modification with the dremel on the mounting slots. I think you have to use the large JC Whitney case, they don't fit right out of the box but as I said, you have to trim a little around the slot and they slip right on the Givi racks.

I haven't ridden with my wife on the back with bags mounted but she's sat on the bike and she can reach the pegs okay. I don't know what it would be like for an extended time but she didn't seem to think it would be a problem. She stands about 5' even so a taller woman may have a bit more or less room.

I have the JCW cases and like them. They do fit tight but I haven't trimmed them. Actually got lucky and two of the cases use the same key. They are the ones that I use on the side and the other i use as a top case. My wife likes them as she can hold on to the handles as we ride. She has plenty of room for her feet. Trickier to dismount than our Goldwing. She is learning, well, truth be told the Vee is for me and the SE is for we. I will try some day to get pictures.

+1 on this. Little dremel work was all it took for a nice tight fit. Sorry about the pic quality. It was a quickie with the cell phone.
