Chaps and a thong or commando style? The day will get warm enough.

From my house to Beaver, Utah is about 200 miles, that's where these winter rides usually start to warm up.
Beaver, a town of about 5000 residents has a couple good places to eat, but most often I just press on to St George or Vegas.

Well another EXCELLENT one in the books.
FIFY.. Well done Mike! Every year that I've attended has been fun, but this year tops them all. Meeting Flounder was a highlight and the route, lunch etc was super! Thanks for this fun event!

Flounder will be an owner by the next time we meet.
He will have to tell you about his near death experience on the way home!
Will look at a burger run around April.
Running South for Taco's Soon!

I have to say riding in the pitch black through DV, 169 miles back to the condo was the low light of the trip. I learned that my eyes have aged a bit since I've ridden in those conditions.... meh.. if everything was perfect life would be boring eh? DD was going to lead us back, but I think I got in the wrong place in line as we left Panamint and lost sight of him, that's ok, I had it in the GPS.

On our last day out, Snownut and I debated on whether to stay in Wendover or press on home. Adrian was in favor of staying, but my wife had been pretty ill for a while so I wanted to get home. That part of the trip, I-80, dark, 80+mph was the coldest part.

Looking forward to tacos or burgers... lets ride!

Flounder and I discussed that area from Panamint to Stovepipe Wells was not marked real well, being tired did not help.
I had a lot of trouble reading the lines and with my progressive lenses I had to keep my head at a downward angle to see through the part of the prescription (long distance) clear.
Think I need to stick to single vision lens for riding as I really don't use my gauges on the bike, speedo is more accurate on nav screen and I shift by feel.
I have single vision Oakleys and they work great in the day time, but tint would of truly made that part of the ride ugly.
I need to tear down both bikes now and do deep service as they are about 3 years behind on care.
I keep getting a little wiff of anti-freeze and lost high and low beam in one lamp on my 1000.
Time to try LED!
Look forward to next meet up.
End of February we are discussing Taco's in San Diego :wink2:
May be a turn and burn day trip, but if I can talk guys into overnighter we could do Salvation Mountain and Joshua Tree for slower scenic ride.

Oh..... OK. I feel better now! Yeah, riding when it's over 85 kinda sucks, too. But at least it's a dry 85 and above out there. Best summer riding - the northern western states. Spent a summer in the Tetons in '16. Doing again for July and August this year. The Idaho side.
Ride safe.

When we left Badwater Basin and headed for Shoshone some of the Spyders were close on gas. One ran out about 10 miles from Shoshone but another guy had some extra gas so all was well.

Or Mother's up at the top leading to Palomar. Julian can really fill up on weekends with all those pesky tourists.
There used to be a German food place at Lake Cuyamaca that was good. Now it called Cuyamaca restaurant/store. Can't vouch for that.
The restaurant down at Lake Henshaw used to be pretty good too.
Mind that Palomar roads become race tracks for the squids on weekends. Don't know if they have as many dorks crashing as Hwy 2 has but I've been passed by packs of track wanna bees on the windy South side.
For actual Taco's 'Jilbertos' back down 76 at the Pauma Casino has been tasty.
Then you could ride the dirt road , Nate Harrison Grade, up to Palomar.
